Update 3: Homicide investigation, Woodridge

A man who was hospitalised with critical injuries after he was stabbed at Woodridge on Saturday, August 18, has died in hospital overnight.

At approximately 11:00pm, the 37-year-old male victim was walking along Ewing Road with three other people, when they became involved in an altercation with a group of three men – who had two children believed to be under the age of 10 with them – in Prince Park.

During the altercations, the victim was stabbed in the neck. He was transported to Princess Alexandra Hospital in a critical condition, where he died overnight.

An Investigation Centre has been established at Logan Central Police Station to investigate the matter under the codename Operation Quebec Larimar.

Investigators want to speak to a group of three men aged between approximately 20 and 40-years-of-age and two young children who it is believed, can assist police with their inquiries.

This group was distinctive with one man playing loud music and another man wearing an orange, high-visibility jacket similar to the one pictured.

Police would also like to speak to anyone who may have witnessed any suspicious behaviour in the area of Prince Park, including Ewing Road and surrounding streets at the time to contact them.

Police would especially like to hear from anyone who may have driven through the area at the time who has dash cam footage or home owners in the area with CCTV installed.

Numerous Queensland Police Service resources remain involved in the investigation including the Logan Criminal Investigation Branch, Logan Child Protection Unit, Homicide Investigation Unit and Scenes of Crime Unit.
