North Queensland boaty off the hook after oar-deal

Police from Port Douglas yesterday were conducting patrols of the main street when they came across something just a little bit fishy…

A 5m boat sitting in the middle of the road. Police could knot believe what they were seaing.

Oh Ship!

After speaking with the owner, police decided it was aboat time the stranded vessel was moved.

The owner of the boat informed police that his friend had not tide the boat onto the trailer correctly which resulted in it the boat falling off the whilst driving around a corner.

Police were unshore how to move the boat so they contacted a local crane operator who reely wanted to help out.

With the help of his piers the crane operator managed to get the boat off the ground back to the trailer.

Bouy oh bouy!

After everything was all tidied up officers decided to give the owner and his friend a stern talking before waving goodbye and continuing their patrols.

The officer in Charge of Port Douglas Police Station, Sergeant Damien Meadows had a reminder for all boaties.

“I urge everyone to please ensure your boat is well secured at all times, we are fortunate in this instance that no-one was injured,” Sergeant Meadows said.

Please remember, safety never takes a holiday.
