Shots fired, Biggera Waters

Detectives are investigating after shots were fired into a vehicle in the vicinity of a Biggera Waters shopping centre carpark last night.

Initial investigations indicate shortly before 10pm a firearm was discharged into the Land Rover Range Rover in Oxley Drive.

The driver and passenger, a 22-year-old woman and 38-year-old man, were not injured and contacted police after driving to an address on East Quay Drive.

The armed man, wearing a dark hoodie and balaclava, left the scene in a white Mercedes SUV before travelling north along Oxley Drive.

A short time later, police were called to reports of a vehicle fire on East Quay Drive and located the white Mercedes, believed to have been seen leaving the shooting incident.

A crime scene was established in the eastern side of the shopping centre food court carpark with detectives seeking to identify those responsible.

A secondary crime scene was established at an address on East Quay Drive where what appears to be several dents made by projectiles were later discovered in the Land Rover.

Investigators established a third crime scene in East Quay Drive where the Mercedes was located on fire.

Anyone who may have witnessed the incidents or has any dash cam footage is urged to contact police.

Investigations are continuing.
