Update – Sudden death, Kelvin Grove

Detectives are continuing to investigate after the body of a man was found at a residence in Kelvin Grove yesterday.

Officers were called to a unit on Hunter Street around 3pm after the body of a 33-year-old man was located by people known to him.

Investigators have interviewed a number of people and all efforts are being made to identify the exact events leading up to the death.

At this stage police are treating the death as suspicious.

A postmortem examination will assist with this process. A crime scene remains in place at Kelvin Grove with scenes of crime and forensic officers processing the scene.

An Investigation Centre has been established at the Brisbane City Criminal Investigation Branch as part of Operation Romeo Chariot.

Detective Acting Inspector Christopher Toohey from Brisbane City Criminal Investigation Branch is urging anyone who may have witnessed anything suspicious in the vicinity of Hunter Street yesterday to contact police.

“We would urge anyone who may have spoken with him in the days leading up to his death to contact police,” Detective Acting Inspector Christopher Toohey said.
